In October of 2022, Kip Daugirdas launched his amateur rocket up to an altitude of 293,000ft (89.5km)! I was lucky enough to cover this launch. His incredible video on YouTube (shown below) has over 2 Million views, and features many of the photos that I took.Â
After publishing this video, the feat quickly went viral amongst the rocketry community. Many posts were made on forums, articles were written, and Kip spoke about the launch at NAR's National Rocketry Convention in January 2023. All of these feature photos that I had the privilege of taking!
What an excellent experience that was, thanks Kip!
This photo of a High Power Saturn V Rocket was taken at LDRS 39 in July of 2021, and published as the cover photo of NAR's Sport Rocketry Magazine in the July/August iteration of 2022.
This is a photo of Porthos, a rocket made by the Gates Brothers. The rocket was passed to Bryce Chanes, and this photo was taken when he and a team of friends launched it during LDRS 39. This photo was featured on the cover of Sport Rocketry Magazine in the May/June iteration of 2023.
